10 years ago the Central Securities Depository of Lithuania was separated from the National Stock Exchange of Lithuania and established as an independent company. At the time it was the first central depository (CD) in the Baltic States. At the year-end of 2003 the capitalisation of held securities accounts by market value totalled LTL 21.6 bn, i.e. national assets managed by the Depository system in the form of securities accounted for 39.4 percent of GDP.
