Gravity Financial was founded by Kirby Richards in May of 2002. His original business plan was to provide outsourced CFO services to startup hedge fund managers that did not have the resources or the need for a full time internal CFO. As clients came on board it was clear that most of them also needed a fund administrator that could provide traditional hedge fund administration services as well helping to guide them through the startup process.
By early 2005 Gravity Financial was slowly growing into a boutique hedge fund administration company that was helping many small hedge managers navigate the waters of their day-to-day operations. In June of 2005 Kirby partnered with Paul Timmins, a CPA with whom he had worked with for several years, to help build Gravity Financial into a specialized hedge fund administration company that is able to work with small startup hedge fund managers and large established hedge fund managers as a trusted consultant rather than just a hedge fund administrator.
Since that time Gravity Financial has seen that vision become a reality. Current clients now range from hedge fund managers with just a few million dollars under management to those with several hundred million dollars under management. Gravity Financial is helping these managers not only with the hedge fund administration side of the business but has also been actively involved in product launches, service provider searches and investor communications.
